Pink is the new Orange

For the 2024 season you may notice a few changes in the “colours we fly.” After many years of riding and racing in Black and Orange, we have decided to transition to a new theme of Black and Pink. We’ve been hinting at this the past couple of seasons with some limited edition offerings, but now moving forward this change in colour is fully in effect, We’ve done this for a number of reasons.

  1. Pink is Tradition : a time-honoured colour throughout the history of cycling

  2. Pink is Passion : yeah, we’re very passionate about cycling

  3. Pink is Inclusive : we want cycling (and our club) to be diverse, open, friendly and safe for all

We look forward to flying the new LDCC Colours this coming season…

So… Who are the LapDogs?

From what began as a small group of friends who first got together back in the late 1990s to share their passion for cycling and participating in 24 hour mountain bike races, in 2003 this rag-tag group formalized to create the beginning of the club we know today.

True to it’s foundation and ethos, the LapDogs Cycling Club is all about riding in a inclusive group with like-minded people. Volunteer run and organized, our club rides focus on riding together, having fun and connecting with new people who share our love for cycling. LapDogs can be found riding after work in the Don Valley, leaving Gears Bike Shop for Wednesday night group road rides, playing in the woods on weekend social rides at some of our favourite destinations outside of Toronto… and participating in many of the local (and often far-flung) Racing Events including MTB Cross-Country , Road, Gravel, Cyclocross and Track.

As we are about to roll into 2024, the LapDogs Cycling Club continues to grow and focus on organizing social group rides, teaching members off and on-road skills, getting involved with various cycling advocacy groups and encouraging participation in local and grassroots racing.

Regardless of your ability, ambition or age, or identity, you’ll find a social, fun-loving pack that suits your style with the LapDogs Cycling Club

Our ride schedules include, Road, MTB, Cyclocross, Gravel and Track.

Locations: Weekly and weekend road rides mostly start near High Park in Toronto’s West End, and also out of our east end location at the Gear’s bike shop in the Canary District.
