Christie Pits, Toronto ON

Christie Cross held at Christie Pits park in Toronto has become a highlight of the season, with a massive turnout of racers as well as fans, friends and foes. Sunday was no exception, with beautiful blue skies and warm weather, the park saw a full-on bike party in the heart of the city.

Racers in each category battled through huge numbers from start to finish (many in costumes, given this event is close to Halloween) on a course that was even harder than last year.

Special shoutouts to Bevin “Ironman” Reith who raced 3 races in one day…, to Judy who barely missed being on yet another podium even though she spent the weekend building the course and volunteering…, to James Griffin who came back from Queen’s University to take a 3rd in Cat C…, and to Mark O’Kane who fought James along the way to come in just behind in 4th.

An even Special(er) shout out to the interim O’CUP series standings which includes Judy Overton in 1st W35+, Scott Cairns in 4th Cat C, and Tim Griffin in 8th M55+. Standings to be updated by the OCA.
