Two Venues: Harold Town Conservation Area on Saturday, and Millbrook Valley trails on Sunday.
LapDogs Shine at the Ganny Enduro Weekend
The LapDogs Cycling Club closed out the 2026 season in style at the Ganny Enduro, the final stop on the Ontario Enduro Series. This is the longest-running event on the Ontario enduro calendar, and this year it grew into a full two-day weekend: Saturday racing at the Harold Town Conservation Area, and Sunday back on the Millbrook Valley trails. The weather cooperated beautifully on both days, giving racers dry trails, comfortable temperatures and ideal conditions to push hard on every stage.
Saturday, October 3 – Harold Town Enduro, 45+ Category
Harold Town was the new addition to the weekend, though not new to local riders. While it's a new venue for the race, it's not a new trail network; Harold Town has been around for a long time in the Peterborough area. The race route covered roughly 16 km, including 22 trails, climbing 909 ft and descending about the same, with a blue (intermediate) difficulty rating.
Three LapDogs lined up in a competitive 45+ field and all delivered impressive rides. Scott Cairns led the pack with a fantastic 5th place finish, showing speed and control from start to finish. Andrew Wadhwa followed close behind in 7th, putting together a consistent and well-paced race. Andrea McKean rounded out the trio with a solid 11th place, riding with confidence and determination throughout.
Sunday, October 4 – Millbrook Enduro, 45+ Category
Sunday brought racers back to the familiar Millbrook Valley Trails, home of the Ganny Enduro. The course was a bigger day out at nearly 29 km, climbing 1,275 ft and descending 1,290 ft across the five stages.
The momentum carried over from Saturday, with the LapDogs growing to four riders. Scott Cairns kept up his excellent form with a strong 6th place finish, backing up his Harold Town result with another top-ten performance. Andrew Wadhwa earned 15th, Andrea McKean claimed 19th, and Barry Cox joined the action to take 20th, giving the club a great showing across the results sheet.
A Weekend to Be Proud Of
Congratulations to Scott, Andrew, Andrea and Barry on their rides. We'd love to see an even bigger pack of LapDogs on the start line next fall!
Thinking About Racing Next Year?
If you've been curious about enduro, the Ganny is a perfect place to start. It bills itself as Ontario's Most Accessible Staged Enduro MTB Race, and the format is friendly to riders of all speeds. Racers are timed only on the descents, and between each stage there are untimed transfer sections where you can catch your breath, chat with friends, and enjoy the ride.
